In this episode, we explore two significant developments in AI image generation: the reveal of Reve AI (previously codenamed “Half Moon”) as the new leader on image generation leaderboards, and the addition of native image generation capabilities to ChatGPT 4o. We test both platforms using the same prompt for a neon sign and compare their performance in both initial generation and image editing. Surprisingly, despite Reve’s reputation for excellence in prompt adherence, aesthetics, and typography, ChatGPT’s native image generation produced comparable or superior results in our limited testing, particularly in its ability to maintain image consistency during edits. These developments highlight the ongoing trend toward unified AI experiences that combine multiple capabilities within a single interface.
